My work is about the wandering of the soul with a desire to find meaning and beauty. Shaping mud into a pleasing form with my fingertips feels poetic, primordial, and human. Making sculpture helps me understand my place in the world.
Pinar Aral (b.1970, Istanbul, Türkiye) has a BA from the Institute of Industrial Design in Florence, Italy. Her creative practice is about deepening her connection to innermost self
and everything around her. She uses sculptural expression to understand her personal experiences and to question the status quo. Pinar’s work has been shown at SOFA,
and the Merchandise Mart.
