In this fast visually stimulating world we forget the pleasures of the contemplative gaze. Join us as we spend time with the art in the galleries of Alma, using a practice of “Deep Looking”. Nancy VanKanegan and Debi Buzil will guide you using music and meditation to deeply examine the work. Starting in the exhibit, “Over, Around, and Through” of paintings by Jeffery Sanderson and ceramic vessels by Nancy VanKanegan, we will use breath, sound and silence to prepare a space of quiet contemplation. The abundance of art by some of Chicago’s most innovative artists will invite you to spend time looking, thinking, and feeling deeply, experiencing the profound effects of vision and time.
